  • Usage data: Pages visited, articles bookmarked, and search queries to improve our service.
  • Newsletter data: Email address when you subscribe to our newsletter via Beehiiv.
  • Device data: Browser type, operating system, and IP address for analytics and security.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)

We process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract: Account creation, service delivery, and newsletter subscriptions you opt into.
  • Legitimate interest: Security, fraud prevention, service analytics, and improving content curation.
  • Consent: Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are only loaded after you explicitly accept cookies via the consent banner.
  • Legal obligation: Retaining records as required by Australian tax and corporate law.

  • Sentry: Error monitoring — no personally identifiable information collected (US-based)

6. International Data Transfers

Our third-party service providers (Clerk, Beehiiv, Vercel, Sentry, Google) process data in the United States. These transfers are conducted under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards as required by applicable data protection law. By using our service, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence.

We use essential cookies for authentication and preferences. Advertising cookies (AdSense) are only loaded after you explicitly accept cookies via the consent banner. You can manage or reset your cookie preferences at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

  • Account data: Retained for the duration of your account, plus 30 days after deletion to allow recovery.
  • Usage and analytics data: Retained for 90 days, then automatically purged.
  • Newsletter data: Retained until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days.
  • Server logs: Retained for 90 days for security and debugging.

You may request deletion of your data at any time.
